Fallowfields Regeneration, Manchester
Project: Fallowfields Regeneration, Manchester
Client: Manchester City Council
Contractor: The Case Group of Companies
Start Date: August 2007
Completion Date: May 2012
Background: South Manchester Strategic Regeneration Framework ‘The Living City’ was completed and approved in 2007. As part of this Framework there was a long term guide for regeneration and neighbourhood renewal.
The councils objectives were to improve: the quality of environment, living, transport, housing and the town centres, and to manage new development in a more sustainable way.
Fallowfields was one of the districts within the framework that saw streetscape improvements carried out. This resulted in the installation of new street furniture in and around the town centre.
Products: As part of these works, Furnitubes supplied over 130no Manchester polyurethane elastomer and cast iron bollards, all with a painted and highlighted finish and including the Manchester City Bee Symbol.
52no Covent Garden Circular cast iron litter bins complete with ashtray and stubber, and gold highlighting, were installed throughout the District along with Sunburst steel tree guards.
