Case Study

White City, Hammersmith

Project: White City, Hammersmith
Client: Skanska McNicholas
Start Date: June 2008
Completion Date: September 2008

Background: A new bus station was required to help deal with the large numbers of visitors heading to and from the newly opened Westfield Shopping centre. It would also provide a convenient interchange between buses and the new Wood Lane tube station.

Products: Furnitubes supplied a range of street furniture to the site:

Railings
New Linx 400 stainless steel ¾ railing was chosen to go outside Wood Lane Tube Station. PGRM Railings in both mild steel and stainless steel were used outside the bus station.

Cycle Stands
Hammersmith Polyeurethane cycle stands were installed outside White City Tube station, while Zenith Stainless steel cycle stands were positioned on an island opposite Shepherds Bush tube station and at various locations around Westfield shopping centre.

Traffic Bollards
Furnitubes supplied 36 stainless steel District traffic bollards with LED uplighters, which were installed in prestigious locations outside the BBC Building and around Westfield shopping centre.
