Purchasing and Production Assistant

Permanent – Full time – Competitive salary

We’re looking for a Purchasing and Production Assistant to support the Operations Manager on all production (purchasing, outsourced production, warehousing, and inventory) for the company; ensuring the products leaving the company are of a high quality and cost-effectively produced. Common materials used are cast iron, sheet metal, and timber. The ideal candidate is well organised, conscientious with good attention to detail.

Responsibilities:

  • Raise Purchase Orders with Suppliers, ensuring we have sourced the best possible price for quantities ordered and that documents are saved in the correct SO folder
  • Check all Purchase Orders to ensure there are no errors in order or router
  • Ensure our ERP system is maintained with agreed delivery dates and costs for standard from suppliers kept up to date
  • Ensure Suppliers deliver products or parts within the agreed time frame (lead time)
  • Chase suppliers to ensure deadlines are met
  • Call customers to update on any revised delivery schedules
  • Responsible for the smooth running of the office and administrative operations
  • First point-of-contact on answering phones, directing calls and taking messages
  • Buying supplies for the office
  • Administration of order book
  • Competent and willing to help the Operation Manager with projects

Experience:

• Attention to detail

• Take initiative to chase suppliers and think ahead to make sure we have materials in time for production, ordered in the most effective way

• Commercial awareness

• Ability to work within tight deadlines and cope under pressure

• Ability to prioritize and schedule tasks

• Numeracy; ability to gather and analyse data and to work with figures

• Strong computer skills

• Superior written and spoken communication skills

• Prior experience with an ERP system

Warehouse supervisor

Permanent – Full time – Competitive salary

We’re looking for an energetic Warehouse Supervisor who thrives on delivering results, on time and as efficiently as possible. This role requires a self-motivated and outgoing individual.

The role:

Responsibilities:

• Manage the current single site day-to-day production

• Deliver key KPIs OTIF, Quality

• Give key feedback in quality, production meetings and report any quality issues to relevant personnel for follow up and implement corrective and preventative actions

• Work with the Operations Manager to develop and improve the Lean Manufacturing processes

• Regular communication with Operations Manager and other key staff on production matters, including pending deliveries and any potential issues with manufacture

Manage all stock levels of items stored within the warehouse and inform management of any low quantity’s or defected items

• Ensure all products are build and packaged to the highest standard ensuring all QC documents have been completed with photos

• Carry out daily fork truck and plant pre use check sheets

• To carry out and complete monthly warehouse safety checklist

Experience:
