How to provide access to utilities in town centres
As days get darker, and with the winter months looming, we often see an increase in town centres, markets, shopping centres hosting outdoor stalls and events.
Power bollards, also known as service bollards, are an ideal way to power such stalls and events, and allow the use of electricity or water outdoors when required. In addition, power bollards can be used to provide lighting in these areas, helping to make areas appear safer and boost local trade. Previously supplied to Canary Wharf, applications include recreational grounds, parks and city centres.
Furnitubes provide four types of power bollards:
- The Zenith Service bollard is a simple, stainless steel power bollard that requires little maintenance and is ideal for modern sites.
- The Kenton Service bollard is based on the Zenith Service bollard but features a recess in the neck. Both designs are available base plated or root fixed.
- The Cannon Major Service bollard is based on the classic Cannon bollard. The cast iron design features two decorative rings and a domed top.
- The Doric Major Service bollard features a fluted wall and a slightly domed top. Both the Cannon and Doric Major Service bollard are held in stock, and can be delivered the next day (primed finish only)
All of Furnitubes power bollards feature a slam lock door which prohibits unauthorised use. The doors also have an access hole to allow bollards to be used when the door is closed, ensuring complete protection. Furnitubes power bollards are part of a range and can be used in conjunction with standard bollards, or other co-ordinating street furniture items such as seating or litter bins.
