National Picnic Week: 11th - 19th June

What makes a perfect picnic?
For the last decade, the art of picnicking has been celebrated with National Picnic week, which in 2016 is from 11th – 19th of June. The week is aimed to provide people with the ideal opportunity to get together over a picnic, with advice, tips and information to make sure you have everything you need to create the perfect picnic.

But what is a picnic? According the Oxford English Dictionary, a picnic is ‘An occasion when a packed meal is eaten outdoors, especially during an outing to the countryside’. But the right food is not the only requirement. At Furnitubes we believe giving people a comfortable place to sit and eat whilst also enjoying their surroundings contributes to a perfect picnic.

Places to picnic
The important thing is that it is outdoors, and whilst British weather may be a little unpredictable, there are many, beautiful places to go to have your picnic even on a cloudy day. Everyone has their favourite spots - whether urban parks, golden sandy beaches, or out in the countryside – and what could be nicer on a long journey than to be able to break off to a picnic spot with lovely views across rolling fields, or under quiet trees.

Picnic in comfort
At Furnitubes we feel it is vital that we do what we can to help the picnic lovers to enjoy their outdoor meal. We have a full range of picnic benches and tables that fit into any landscape – whether a planned urban park, out on a cliff top, or in a picnic spot tucked away from a main road.

They come in a variety of materials, styles and colours, to suit any requirements and most tables and benches are 100% recyclable, with options including biodegradable & legally sourced timber slats, Wood Plastic Composite slats or recycled plastic slats.

Our designs vary from the contemporary RailRoad picnic benches and tables – a modern design that fits perfectly into urban parks and schemes, to the very familiar Dundee picnic table that one might see out on a cliff top. But with over fifteen different picnic bench designs, there is bound to be a range which fits in with your requirements. The elegant Zenith range is popular and understandably so. Characterised by the steel frames and inset timber tops, the outdoor dining tables and benches are of a robust construction and provide comfort for users.

So what makes a perfect picnic?
The food, the location, the weather – all critical components, but we think, and we might be biased, that being comfortable on a well-designed picnic table helps a lot with the overall experience.

So if you are designing an area where people are likely to want to share a meal outdoors, please do get in touch.

Our team are happy to advise on the ideal furniture for your scheme, and to tailor our in-house designs to perfectly fit your exact requirements.
