Pillgwenlly Regeneration, Newport, South Wales
Client:
Newport City Council
Artist:
Martin Heron
Project details:
The Pillgwenlly Regeneration Project in Newport was the redesign of Mariner’s Green as part of the enhancement of the gateway between the city centre and Pill.
Designed by Artist Martin Heron, the open space includes a sculptural tree and the ground work is made from multi-coloured resin. Furnitubes supplied eight Core concrete benches in dark grey with an acid etch finish, along with a number of Paddington litter bins in a variety of colours to complement the bright colours of the design.
Located on Commercial Road, at the end of Frederick Street in Newport, this once misused site has been transformed in to a bright and colourful public space ready to be enjoyed by local residents.
