Dukes Court, Surrey

The Project

Originally built in 1986, Dukes Court has formed part of a £77 million regeneration scheme in Woking, Surrey. The scheme was a substantial investment made by Woking Borough Council to sustain the long-term vitality of the town centre. The redevelopment included new signage and pedestrian routes, updated office space, a new restaurant and a living ‘green’ wall – aimed to improve air quality in the area.

Outside of Dukes Court a new pedestrianised public space was designed and required the creation of large wavey planting beds all in corten to sit either side of the entrance to the building. The planter had to adapt to the stairways, slopes and columns present in the final design, adding a lot of complexity to the required planter wall geometry.
